Lockout is owned and operated by Greg, an off duty firefighter, and his brother Glenn. The idea started as a goal to open a hardcore gym in Mckinney, Tx. They were tired of only having large fitness centers with expensive dues and too many rules. While doing the research of what it was going to take to open such a gym they decided to start a webpage for it. They didn't want to stop with just the gym, so the ideas of a forum, clothing line, online supplement store, and bodybuilding/powerlifting gear came next. So now what you have is a one stop bodybuilding/powerlifting site. Over time the site will continue to grow and many changes will be made to better accommodate our users' needs.

The idea came from Greg at the 2007 Texas Cup.

"I placed 3rd in the open 198's and they did not have the trophies they were supposed to give out to the top 3 places. APF said they would mail the trophies to the gyms we train at or the head members of our crews. I had no crew and I had no gym I wanted to call home. I decided then that I wanted to open a gym and have a crew of my own. I needed something easy but catchy for a name. All day at the Texas Cup I had been hearing yells of "LOCKOUT!!" to fellow lifters that were smashing weight. I knew this was the name I was looking for."
